The
Marina d'Or holiday resort is located on the outskirts of
Oropesa del Mar
in the province of Castellon.
This typical Mediterranean seaside town is known for its beaches
of white sand, coves and
cliffs, the marina, and picturesque old town with its bars and
nightlife.
There are many things to do and many places to visit nearby. Grutas de San José - Located in Val d'Uxo, it is Europe's longest navigable underground river. Believed to have been inhabited as long as 15,000 years ago, as evidenced by the remains of cave paintings, it has many chambers and galleries featuring rock formations formed over thousands of years. Desierto de Las Palmas - In wooded hills a few kilometres inland from Benicàssim is the tranquil 17th century Carmelite monastery of the Desierto de las Palmas which is famous for its liqueur distilled from aromatic herbs. The surrounding region is a designated natural park (Parc Natural del Desierto de las Palmas) and, with it's many trails and picnic spots, it is very popular with walkers.
Morella - A picturesque walled village in the mountains
984 m above sea level with a
medieval castle. Built as a frontier fortress it's centuries old walled
battlements were built around the town to serve as its defence. There are also many interesting towns and villages nearby, and you will find useful information on these in the Castellon & Costa Azahar Tourist Guide.
With so much to do in and around Marina d'Or you are sure to enjoy your
holiday |
